Constant Pressure System

Code: CEST319

In a traixial test it pore pressure is not required to be measured the testes can be completed in short times. However where pore pressure measurements are required, the duration of the triaxial test is moe as much as 96 hours. In certain cases it may be necessary to keep the cell pressure/constant for aperiod of several weeks. Constant pressure systems are used to apply the lateral pressure in a triaxial test chamber and automatically maintain this pressure constant at the valve set, over as long as period of time as desired. A control panel is supplied with each unit (suitable for wall mounting). On this panel are fixeda pressure pump and a screw controlled piston, a pressure gauge, a winding mechanism, a small water reservoir and the valves necessary 2 for filling, de-airing and applying the required pressure.

The pressure gauge supplied is marked in kg/cm . The pressure ranges given are applicable where an unobstructed wall height of 4.5 meter is avaiLable. For 2 every 30cm reduction in height, the pressure output of the unit reduces by approximately 0.55kg/cm for each pair of pots.

Vane Shear

Code: CEST370

Soft and sensitive soils whose shear strength is less than 15KN/m , the results are dependent on operator's skill. Even pushing the sample tubes in soil may cause some disturbance. Experience shows that carefully controlled compression tests results can be related to figures obtained by pushing a small vane in the soil and rotating it at a controlled rate and measuring the force, required for maximum resistance. Vane Shear Test can be conducted in a Laboratory or in the field.
