Conductivity Apparatus

The apparatus consists of a fabricated transparent acrylic stand supporting three cells in the form of 50 ml glass beakers. Electrodes are suspended into the cells, each having a low voltage lamp in series to indicate the current flowing. The three cells and lamps, as a group are connected in parallel and provided with a pair of 4 mm sockets for connection to the external supply. Demonstration Transformer

With one mains coil 230 to 240 V, 50 Hz, 2400 turns and two interchangeable secondary coils, 65 and 130 turns giving outputs of 6 and 12 V approximately at 2 A maximum. The laminated iron core is in two sections, 'T' and 'U' with butt joints, the stem of the 'T' having a cross section 24 x 24 mm. A simple channel and wing-nut clamping arrangement facilitates quick assembly and interchange of coils. The coils are wound on insulating bobbin, with 2-pin connection for mains and 4 mm sockets for the secondary outputs. The number of turns, voltage and amperage is marked on each coil. The transformer is supplied complete with 2 m of flex and a 2-pin mains connector. Overall dimensions 150x100x130 mm.

Demountable Transformer

Post Office Box, Plug Type

Plug type, in polished wooden box with hinged lid and panel to show circuit connections. Coils of constantan wire double silk covered are wound non-inductively. Three pairs of ratio arms are each 10, 100, 1000 ohms and resistance arms contains 16 coils from 1 to 5000 ohms with infinity plug. Total value 11, 110 ohms. Two spring keys having contact for battery and galvanometer fitted. Accuracy of coils 100 to 500 ohms + 0.05% and of the rest coils + 0.1%.
